Mobile Equine Laser Therapy
Now Available.
Scientific research on laser therapy in the field of veterinary
medicine is extensive – horses in particular are more sensitive
than humans to light so the many positive scientific studies published attest to the
effectiveness of laser therapy across a wide range of
conditions. Laser therapy is currently best utilised in the
equine field. The benefits of faster recovery delivered by laser therapy are particularly
attractive to owners and trainers of horses in competition,
whether racing or eventing.

Hydro Therapy Spa.
Jan Butler has
expanded her equine therapy consultancy with the purchase on a
brand new hydro therapy spa. Cold Salt Hydrotherapy is used to
treat and prevent a multitude of injuries in 2°C / 35°F
saltwater. The spa has successfully addressed virtually all
lower leg injuries. Treatment temperature alone induces a
massive rush of blood and circulation which otherwise would not
be present. This drug free therapy can be used preventatively to
increase mobility and reduce swelling in the limbs before and
after competitive events and training. Installation and
treatments will be available soon. Call 07921
886 730 for more info.
Thermal Imaging Technology.
Injuries in horses show up clearly when viewed using a thermal
image camera. Although most experienced horse owners are able to
identify heat in a leg or foot, usually indicating inflammation,
a pulled tendon or an abscess, there are often symptoms of
discomfort or poor performance where the horse is showing no
physical signs of injury. A human touch cannot identify changes
in temperature of less than 2 degrees, however, a thermal camera
can “see” and detect changes of less than 0.5 degree, making it
easy to identify problem areas, where heat is not obvious to the
touch. Jan will be purchasing this equipment in the near
future.
